ORDINANCE NO. ____3_________ OF 2020
AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 89 – VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC
BOROUGH OF SWOYERSVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA
BE IT ENACTED AND ORDAINED by the Council of the Borough of Swoyersville, County of Luzerne and State of Pennsylvania, and it is hereby enacted and ordained as follows:
Chapter 89-24. Limited Time Parking. Adding the following streets and locations to reflect Limited Time Parking Restrictions:
Stock Avenue: No Parking in the Cul-De-Sac on any garbage days from 7 AM to 3:30 PM or During Snow Storms.
Bond Avenue: No Parking in the Cul-De-Sac on any garbage days from 7 AM to 3:30 PM or During Snow Storms.
Grandville Drive: No Parking in the Cul-De-Sac on any garbage days from 7 AM to 12:00 PM or During Snow Storms.
Chapter 89-25. Parking Prohibited at All Times. Adding the following streets and locations to reflect No Parking at All Times:
Diamond Street: Parking Prohibited at All Times on The Southeast Side of the street from Broderick Street in a Southerly Direction to the Luzerne Border.
Broderick Street: Parking Prohibited at All Times from corner of the south side of the street from Diamond Street in an Easterly Direction 20 feet down the hill.
Hemlock Street Dead End: Parking Prohibited at All Times between signs on the West Side of the street toward the Dead End: 44 feet from the Corner of West Hall Street in a Northerly Direction 182 feet on Hemlock Street.
Steeplechase Drive: Parking Prohibited at All Times between signs on North side of Street in a Westerly Direction from Main Street 31 feet to 120 feet in distance.
Steeplechase Drive: Parking Prohibited at All Times from South Side of Street in a Westerly Direction 105 Feet from Main Street.
ADOPTED, ENACTED AND ORDAINED by the Council of Swoyersville Borough at a regular meeting duly held this 1st day of June, 2020.
Swoyersville Borough is advising the residents of the following:
– The Borough Building and Street Dept. Garage are closed to the public until further notice. There is a staff on hand at the Borough Building to answer calls and perform necessary jobs for keeping the town functioning.
– Garbage and Recycling collections are still on schedule. Please have patience with the collections as the Street Department are a guy down (NOT because of the virus).
– Police Dept. is answering ALL calls: Emergency calls and non emergency calls. The Non Emergency calls are being handled per CDC guidance for social distancing.
– The April 6 council meeting has been postponed until next week. The new meeting date will be either April 13 or 14. There will be a legal notice posted in the newspaper and a notice here with the rescheduled date. The meeting will be Live on Facebook and residents will still be able to ask questions or just watch the meeting. Residents can ask a question on the Borough’s Facebook page or call with a question. Council nor Mayor Concert can answer questions about the virus since they are qualified to do so. The date of the meeting is pending as long as no additional mandates are ordered by either the President of the United States or Governor Wolf.
-Residents can get garbage stickers at Gerrity’s (Luzerne and Wyoming); Hospodar’s Garage, 260 Shoemaker Street across from the American Legion; Rich’s Service Station, 655 Main Street and the Convenience Store, 1098 Main Street.
